Why does this blog exist?
Who knows, really. Certainly, I do not and I suppose that’s sort of the theme — not that I don’t know anything. Rather, it’s that there isn’t really a direction and there are some moments where I feel severely directionless. Those are the times it seems like I’m just rambling….and there’s usually a lot of it. Sometimes I figure things out and want to share them with you. So I guess that’s what I’m doing here, figuring things out and sharing with you. And if you’re here then there’s no reason to not keep going.
I’m not going to rock your world but I’ll probably surprise you a couple of times, and that’s good enough for me.
Wait…who am I anyway?
Once upon a time on the island of Guam, a tiny girl emerged with a fist in the air and hair twice as long as her little body. She would come to be known as “Ruzelle”, meaning “lives with no fear. Her greatest accomplishments would become loving hard, creating passionately and striving to impact as many lives possible.
Of course, that girl was me. I graduated from the University of Guam, with a B.A. in Communication: Mass Media and a minor in Chamorro Studies. As it stands, I’m attending various courses on UCLA Extension trying to perfect my craft in the production office and toying with the idea of going for a postgraduate degree. I use the other portion of my time serving my community and fellow artists, usually via the Guam Int’l Film Festival.
In a nutshell: I spend my days writing words and making movies for both myself and for the people who pay for my food — all on the lovely island of Guåhan.
